Chess club is an after-school activity that will meet on Thursdays. It is open to grades 3-5 and is designed to give students an opportunity to learn the game of chess, improve their chess skills, and to enjoy competition against their peers. Beginners will be taught the basic rules, the value of pieces, and how to checkmate their opponents. While there will be friendly competition between members, the goal of our chess club is to build the following skills: self-esteem, critical thinking, concentration, social skills, and good sportsmanship.

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run Club is open to girls in grades 4 and 5. We meet twice a week from September until December. We welcome girls of all running abilities. Our goal is to empower young girls to recognize their individual strengths while building a sense of connection in a team setting. At the end of the season, the girls compete in a 5K race. This is a National Organization, so there is a fee for participating. The club is also limited to 15 girls. More detailed information will be coming soon.
