Course Description

As a full year elective, AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination provides students with the academic and systemic support by building skills students need to be successful in their post-secondary lives. Throughout the year, students will receive on-going instruction in areas such as growth mindset, note taking, organization of school materials, goal setting, and tutorial support. Students will hone their note-taking skills, organize a comprehensive student binder, and engage in collaborative activities designed to prepare students for post-secondary educational environments. Students also have the opportunity to meet with and hear from various community leaders.
