Speech/ Language Pathologist

The speech/ language pathology program is offered under Special Education Services. The program consists of evaluating and providing therapy to students with a variety of communication disorders involving impairments in receptive/ expressive language, articulation, fluency, and voice.

About Mrs. Marie Bowers/ Education and Experience:

This is Mrs. Bowers 17^th year holding her CCC's as a Speech-Pathologist. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors in Communication Disorders from McMurry University in 2003 with a minor in Psychology and her Master’s in Speech Pathology from Abilene Christian University in 2005.  Mrs. Bowers has primarily practiced in public schools but has also worked part-time in private practice with the pediatric population, prior to joining BISD.  She loves the public school atmosphere and to be involved in her community.

Personal Information:

Mrs. Bowers was born and raised in a small town in West Texas where she participated in many sports and school activities. She has been married for 18 years, has two children, and many pets, including dogs, fish, lizards, frogs and the occasional bug caught in the yard.

Mrs. Bowers enjoys spending time with her family outdoors including hiking, fishing, kayaking and camping.
