MATH 6

  • Math 6 focal areas include number and operations, proportionality; expressions, equations, and relationships; and measurement and data. Students use concepts, algorithms, and properties of rational numbers to explore mathematical relationships and to describe increasingly complex situations and connect multiple representations of relationships. Students communicate information about geometric figures or situations by quantifying attributes, generalize procedures from measurement experiences, and use the procedures to solve problems.

MATH LAB 6

  • Math Lab 6 allows support for students who evidence foundational weaknesses in mathematics. Students receive daily instruction in mathematics producing greater understanding and success. The curriculum is aligned to 6th grade math but the pacing is more individualized based on the students’ needs.

PRE-AP MATH 6

  • PreAP Math 6 is based upon the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards adopted by the state of Texas. The course spans all of Grade 6 mathematics TEKS and nearly half of the Grade 7 mathematics TEKS. The course moves at an accelerated pace, and the standards of achievement and performance are challenging in order to accelerate student preparation for Algebra I in 8th grade. The PreAP Math 6 GT content is taught at an accelerated pace and with greater depth and complexity in content to include advanced topics such as coding.
