Campus Behavior Coordinator

  • Under the requirements of Senate Bill 107, 84th legislature, TEC 37.0012, each campus must have a staff member designated as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. As a District of Innovation, BISD has opted to designate each administrator as a campus behavior coordinator.

BISD works collaboratively to determine discipline and ensure students are supported emotionally and socially in a restorative discipline approach. You may contact any of the administrators listed on this page by email or phone if you have any questions or concerns.

Welcome Roadrunners!  This is my19th year in education and I am thrilled to be the first principal at Van Raub Elementary.  I am proud to be the first in my family to go to college and received my degree in Reading from Angelo State University, along with my Masters in School Administration.  I taught for ten years in 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades and worked with different district-level programs.  My favorite part of what I do is having great relationships with our staff, families, and students.   This year, we are utilizing Genius Hour on Fridays, Chromebooks for every student, implementing Whole-Brain Teaching, and increasing student engagement through our flexible learning spaces and seating.  I am passionate about what I do and am here to support every student.  At VRES, we are working hard to change the paradigm in education from traditional to contemporary to develop a well-rounded 21st Century student that will be a successful citizen.

Hello Amazing Roadrunners, families, and community members. I began my career in Education in 2006 and I am so excited to be part of such a supportive staff, student, and community full of life-long learners! At Van Raub, we are implementing the following innovations/initiatives: whole-brain teaching, project-based learning/challenge-based learning, Genius Hour, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) through our beautiful flexible learning spaces and classrooms.

These initiatives complement each other in supporting our learners to begin their journey as a 21st Century student. This journey challenges all students to grow as a critical thinkers, collaborators, communicators, and creative problem-solvers.

I am passionate about all facets of this work at Van Raub. I truly enjoy the daily work with our amazing teachers who carry out and support us as they synthesize the student-learning. This shift from traditional to contemporary prepares our students for challenges and teaches them some necessary skills for future success.

I thank all of you for this opportunity and look forward towards our collaborative growth together as we continue to serve!
