Email: summer.gault@boerneisd.net
Mrs. Summer Gault has spent more than 20 years in public education. Mrs. Gault came to Boerne ISD in 2014, beginning at Fabra Elementary and moving to Boerne Middle school south where she served as an Assistant Principal for the last four years.
Prior to her time at BISD, she was a teacher in both Comal ISD and North East ISD. Mrs. Gault is a graduate of both UT- Tyler and UTSA where she had the privilege of being a member of the women’s basketball team.
When she is not at school, Mrs. Gault enjoys spending time with her amazing family: her husband, Terry, three children, Brant, Cade, and Bralyn, and 2 dogs. As a family, they enjoy traveling, visiting family, attending sporting events, and working in the yard.
Mrs. Gault believes that each new adventure provides the opportunity for growth, a chance to add to your toolbelt, to make new connections, to influence others, and to reflect. It also provides opportunities to cross paths with individuals that can impact your life profoundly. I don't ever want to take that for granted or miss out on those opportunities!

Michael Joannou began his education career in 2008 as a Learning Mentor and Attendance Officer at Lordship Lane Primary School (LLPS) in North London. In this role, he focused on supporting children with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges, aiming to remove barriers to their learning.
This experience solidified Mr. Joannou’s commitment to teaching. While working at LLPS, he completed his degree and transitioned to teaching kindergarten in 2014.
During this period, Mr. Joannou met his wife, Chelsea, a native of Boerne, Texas. He balanced a long-distance relationship, work, college commitments, and part-time delivery work to afford plane tickets. Mr. and Mrs. Joannou were married in 2016 and relocated to Boerne in 2017, where they reside with their son, John, and their Shih Tzu, Brisket.
Upon moving to Boerne, Mr. Joannou began teaching at Cibolo Creek Elementary School within the Boerne Independent School District. His time in Boerne inspired him to pursue further professional growth, leading him to start a master’s degree and an administrative internship during his final year at Cibolo Creek Elementary.
In the summer of 2020, Mr. Joannou joined Herff Elementary as an Instructional Coach, where he earned his principal certification. He was thrilled to join Van Raub Elementary in 2021. During his time at Van Raub, Mr. Joannou was honored as the 2024 TEPSA Region 20 Assistant Principal of the Year and the 2024 NAESP National Outstanding Assistant Principal for the State of Texas. He looks forward to continuing his journey at Van Raub. Go Roadrunners!

Campus Behavior Coordinator
-
Under the requirements of Senate Bill 107, 84th legislature, TEC 37.0012, each campus must have a staff member designated as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. As a District of Innovation, BISD has opted to designate each administrator as a campus behavior coordinator.
BISD works collaboratively to determine discipline and ensure students are supported emotionally and socially in a restorative discipline approach. You may contact any of the administrators listed on this page by email or phone if you have any questions or concerns.
