  • Boerne Independent School District is a great place to work and grow professionally. BISD and its employees are embraced by the community, which takes great pride in the tradition of excellence fostered by Boerne schools. That commitment to excellence is shared by all members of our team and we seek to hire committed, qualified education professionals who share our passion for excellence. We believe we have the opportunity to engage, inspire and enrich the lives of our students. If you share that belief, consider joining the Boerne ISD team.

All applications must be completed and submitted online. Due to the high volume of applications received on a regular basis, Boerne ISD cannot interview all applicants. BISD will not accept any application documents that are not submitted through the online application system (except for auxiliary employees and substitute teachers).

The Boerne Independent School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age or disability.

    Teacher and Administrator Applicants:

Thank you for considering employment with the Boerne ISD. All professional and para-professional job openings are posted on the BISD website. Please do not randomly call the HR Department to see if there are any positions open. Here is a description of the internal employment procedures used by the Boerne ISD.

Each campus or Central Office administrator has appropriate access to online employment applications. They will review the applications that are relevant to their open positions. Based upon their review, they will choose which applicants they want to interview. The administrator will contact you if you are chosen. Not all applicants will be interviewed. The administrator will then recommend their choice to the Chief Human Resources Officer. The recommendation is subject to the review and acceptance of the Chief Human Resources Officer. If the Chief Human Resources Officer accepts the recommendation, then he/she will in turn recommend employment of the applicant to the Board of Trustees at their next scheduled meeting. Until approved by the Board of Trustees, the applicant has no legal or contractual right to employment with the Boerne ISD. Final employment for a teacher is contingent upon the teacher meeting the highly qualified requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and the Texas Education Agency. Final employment of all candidates is contingent upon a successful criminal history clearance. Criminal history checks will not be performed unless you are offered a position of employment.

    Auxiliary Position Applicants:

For those seeking employment for an auxiliary position (Food Services, Bus Drivers, Custodians, Grounds Keepers, and Maintenance Workers), you must complete the Auxiliary Employee Application for processing.

    Teaching Assistant Applicants:

All Educational Aides (teaching assistants) are required by the State of Texas to hold a valid certificate as a paraprofessional educator. This process requires an on-line application, fingerprinting for a nation-wide criminal history background check, and fees totaling approximately $100. If you are employed by Boerne ISD, the Human Resources staff will explain the application process to you. If you already hold valid certification as an Educational Aide or Certified Teacher for the State of Texas, you will not be required to re-apply.
