Meet the Team
Director of Communications
Bryan Benway serves as Boerne ISD's Director of Communications.
Mr. Benway came to Boerne ISD in March of 2020 after serving as State Representative Kyle Biedermann's District Director for three years. Before working in the Texas Legislature, Benway held a variety of communications roles over the past decade, including as a Nationally Syndicated radio host, as a Broadcasting and Media Relations Director in professional hockey, and working at Schreiner University in Kerrville, among others.
Bryan, his wife Danica, stepson Phenix, and daughter Brady reside in Boerne. Danica is a Boerne ISD teacher and Phenix is enrolled at Boerne ISD.
Communications Specialist &
Parent Involvement Coordinator
Amanda Payne serves as Boerne ISD's Communications Specialist & Parent Involvement Coordinator.
Amanda came to Boerne ISD from the Kendall County Women’s Shelter where she served as the Director of Volunteer and Donor Relations. She has a background in Non-Profit and Human Services with 10 years of experience focused on organizing, training and managing large volunteer programs.
Amanda earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has been a resident of Boerne since 2013 with her husband Travis and their four fur-kids, Honey, Mollie, Winston, and Salem.
Erik Armenta serves as the Multimedia Specialist.
Erik came to Boerne ISD from the Sinclair Broadcasting Group (FOX San Antonio, CW35, News4 San Antonio) where he was a Producer and Videographer for nearly 25 years.
Erik freelances with Spurs Sports & Entertainment Group, where he is the camera and board operator for the San Antonio Spurs and San Antonio FC home games. He has also been involved in producing other media projects throughout the years including indie films, music videos, and TV shows.
Erik and his wife JoAnn reside in San Antonio along with their two children, Luke and Sierra.
