The 18+ Transitional Life Skills Program provides employment opportunities where students receive job experience and social skills with a Boerne ISD job coach.
The 18+ Transitional LIfe Skills student will go into a work environment and perform the same tasks as a paid employee with the support of their job coach. We partner with the Boerne community businesses to help students achieve their goals. Our goal is to provide a lifelong foundation towards the student's independence.
Students work with job coaches to develop and integrate job-specific skills, time management, social skills, and organization.
Job coaches support students in the following ways:
The 18+ Transitional Life Skills Program provides instruction and training for students to learn necessary skills for independent living.
The 18+ Transitional Life Skills Program provides support and helps students learn their rights and how to advocate for themselves.
The resource below has been created by the Student-Centered Transitions Network (SCTN) to assist students and families with creating a path to a successful life after high school. This guide has steps students and families can take to make sure students are able to find the right work or educational options after high school. It also tells students where to get the services they will need after high school. Each section has phone numbers, emails, and websites to help find what you need.
