8th Grade AMERICAN HISTORY

  • American History is the study of the United States from the early colonial period to Reconstruction (1877) and the political, social, and economic events that shaped the present country. The course includes the development of the government of the United States, the Constitution, and citizenship. Students use primary and secondary sources to acquire information about the U.S.

8th Grade PRE-AP AMERICAN HISTORY

  • PreAP American History includes the topics studied in 8th grade social studies. Students achieve a greater depth of understanding through thoughtful discuss and reading and an emphasis on writing and analytical skills. Students use primary and secondary sources to acquire information about the United States. The course is designed to equip student with conceptual understanding and critical thinking needed in preparation for high school Advanced Placement courses. Out-of-class reading and research are expected.
