We get to set the stage for our students so to have the best opportunities in their future.Tell us about your family and pets:My wife and I will be married for 22 years in August. Our son, Sterling, attends the University of North Texas for biomedical engineering. He is currently a sophomore recently played lead trumpet for the Carolina Crown Drum Corp. Our daughter, Ireland, is a freshman at the University of Texas in San Antonio. She plans on majoring with multiple areas, including film and business to pursue her passion of becoming a successful film director one day. My wife, Sheryl, is an English teacher at Stevens High School in San Antonio. We enjoy traveling and the outdoors.What do you like to do when you're not at school?Fishing, mountain biking, volunteering, playing trumpet and being with friends and family.What was your favorite subject in school?ScienceWhat is your favorite food?SteakWho is your favorite sports team?Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio SpursWhat is something unique about you?In high school, I was told that I wasn't college material because my grades weren’t good enough, I got into too much trouble, and that I couldn’t afford to attend. However, I worked hard to be the first in my entire family to attend college and I finished graduate school, where I was the 2012 recipient of the Angelo State College of Education Distinguished Graduate Student Award .
