April 23, 2020- Boerne ISD, along with Toyota of Boerne, is proud 
to announce the 2019-20 Teacher and Support Staff of the year winners. The District Teacher of the Year is Janna Clements from Capt. Mark Tyler Voss Middle School, while the District Support Staff of the Year is Debbie Tobin from Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary School. The winners were announced by Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price this week during separate virtual ceremonies.
“We are extremely proud of Janna and Debbie, and are immensely grateful for all of the hard work that they put in day in and day out to serve their students,” Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price said. “To be named district teacher and support staff of the year is a tremendous honor, and it is very well deserved for both Janna and Debbie. We are happy for them and their families, and look forward to having them back on our campuses next school year,” said Price.
District Teacher of the Year Janna Clements, who received a $10,000 check from Toyota of Boerne as District Teacher of the Year, began her teaching career in August 2016, and has been with Boerne ISD since August 2017. She currently teaches 6th-grade world cultures and 7th grade Texas history at Voss Middle School. Earning District Teacher of the Year honors has become a family affair for Clements, as her husband Tyler was named Comal ISD’s Secondary Teacher of the Year for the 2019-20 school year.
The 11 other campus teachers of the year will receive $500 cash from Toyota of Boerne.
District Support Staff of the Year Debbie Tobin has been with Boerne ISD for nearly 25 years, including nearly the last 15 at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary. She works as a Teachers Assistant in the Special Education Department, and also serves the campus in a variety of ways, including morning and afternoon bus duty, as well as lunch duty.
Boerne ISD congratulates all of the 2019-20 campus Teacher and Support Staff of the year for their hard work as well.
