April 28, 2020- Boerne ISD is proud to announce that Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary has been selected by The Flippen Group as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School for the 2019-20 school year. This is the second school year in a row that Fair Oaks Ranch has received this prestigious honor. FORES is one of just 285 schools in the United States to receive this recognition.
“Being named a National Showcase school once again is a great honor, not only for Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary, but for Boerne ISD as well,” BISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price said. “This recognition confirms what we already know, that we have the best teachers and students in Texas. Congratulations to Principal Lauren Walch, and everyone at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary,” said Price.
Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary first opened in 1995 and now serves a total of 692 students who reside in parts of Kendall, Comal and Bexar counties.
“We are so excited to share this wonderful news with our community,” FORES Principal Lauren Walch stated. “Everyone from our staff, to our students and parents helped contribute to this award. Every single staff member intentionally builds connections with students, families, and each other on a daily basis, which has created a very positive culture at FORES. I am so proud their efforts are being recognized with this award. When students feel loved and valued, deeper learning can occur. We are grateful for the support of our PTO and the BISD and Fair Oaks Ranch communities,” said Walch.
Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School awardees are evaluated and selected based on survey and performance data from administrators, teachers, staff, and students. Decreases in discipline referrals as well as positive campus culture and climate are common themes among the data from awarded campuses.
