July 20, 2020- The Boerne-Champion Band Boosters recently upgraded the band’s equipment trailer for the CHS band to use starting this school year. Part of the build encompassed an Eagle Scout project for one of the band students. The boosters, along with BSA Venture Crew 109 scouts, band members, and the Clubhouse Trailers Company, built out the trailer in three days over the summer.
The updated trailer has high-quality flooring, three sets of stairs, a wider load ramp, interior lighting on the top and bottom floors, carpeted instrument shelves, exterior floodlights, and a solar panel solution to supply the needed power. The updated trailer improves safety, cuts down on the load/unload time, adds lighting for early morning and late-night use, and will better protect the equipment from transportation damage. The trailer upgrade was paid for thanks to the band boosters fundraising efforts.
