Boerne High, Champion Homecoming Parades Set

Homecoming 2020 September 2, 2020- The Boerne Independent School District, along with the City of Boerne, will host their annual homecoming parades for both Boerne High School and Champion High School during the 2020 football season.

The Greyhounds parade is set for Monday, September 14th at 6:30pm, while the Chargers parade is scheduled for Monday, October 19th at 6pm. The parade route will remain the same as usual, starting in Main Plaza then heading down Blanco Rd. and ending at BISD Stadium for the pep rallies. There will be a full closure of Blanco Rd. for both parades, with full barricades at all intersections, and full law enforcement staffing of the event. The street closures will begin 30 minutes prior to the parades.

“Thank you to the City of Boerne, The Boerne Police Department, and TXDOT for coming together to plan the parades for our students,” said Boerne ISD Athletic Director Stan Leech. “We are happy to have the full support of the city, police, and TXDOT for these events, and are grateful for their support of the BISD community,” Leech stated.

Both parades will follow social distancing guidelines, with participants and spectators asked to wear masks to keep the event safe. Candy will not be given out at this year’s parades.

Boerne High School's homecoming game will be held on Friday, September 18th against Sweetwater, while Champion High School will host Medina Valley for their homecoming game on Friday, October 23rd.

Boerne ISD would like to once again share its gratitude to the City of Boerne, The Boerne Police Department, and TXDOT for their help and support in making these events possible.
