July 21st, 2021- The Boerne Independent School District has announced new Assistant Principals at Boerne-Champion High School and Kendall Elementary School. Thomas Hatten is the new Assistant Principal at Champion, while Jessica Rivas takes over that role at Kendall.
Mr. Hatten comes to Boerne ISD after spending 14 years teaching at Northside ISD. He taught Special Education and then Social Studies at Warren High School from 2013 until the end of last school year. Prior to his time at Warren Mr. Hatten was a Special Education Teacher at John Jay High School from 2007-2013.
Ms. Rivas joined Boerne ISD for the 2020-21 school year as Kendall Elementary’s Third-Grade Dual Language Teacher.
Prior to her time at Kendall, Ms. Rivas spent nine years in Sharyland ISD. From 2012-2020 she served as the First and Third-grade Bilingual Teacher at Harry Shimotsu Elementary School after spending the 2011-12 school year as Second-Grade Bilingual Teacher at Romulo D. Martinez Elementary School.
Boerne ISD opens the 2021-22 school year on Wednesday, August 11th.
