CHS logoOctober 25, 2021- Two Boerne-Champion Advanced Placement Program (AP) Students have had their articles selected to be published in the Journal for Student Research. Amber Frantz and Shannon Breuer’s work will be displayed in the Journal, which has published articles from 1,500 students at over 400 schools across the globe. The papers have been approved for the copyediting stage and are in the process of publication.

Frantz is publishing "A Mixed-Method Study on the Effectiveness of Using Virtual Reality to Improve Adolescent Public Speaking”, while Breuer is publishing "Competition or Catastrophe: A Mixed-Method Study on the Influence of Class Rank on Course Decisions.”

A third Champion student, Lyle Rideout, also submitted a paper, as well, but she has not received a status update yet.

Boerne High School had several students submit articles for publication with a deadline of November 30th.

According to the Journal for Student Research, JSR is a Multidisciplinary and Faculty-reviewed journal devoted to the rapid dissemination of current student research. The journal seeks papers that are novel, integrative, and written in a way that is accessible to a wide audience which includes an array of disciplines.

In another accomplishment, Rideout is one of 375 students out of 24,049 who received a perfect score on her AP Research Exam.  Not only did she receive a 5 on her exam but earned every possible point.
