All 13 Boerne ISD Schools Earn Statewide Counseling Awards

CRESTJanuary 12, 2023- The Boerne Independent School District has announced that all 13 campuses have earned statewide CREST (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence in Texas) awards from the Texas School Counselor Association.

10 BISD campuses earned CREST awards during the 2021-22 school year. This year marks the first CREST award for Champion High School, Fair Oaks Ranch, and Kendall Elementary.

In 2005, the Texas School Counselor Association began a program called CREST to recognize schools with outstanding counseling programs. Schools receiving CREST awards have demonstrated a commitment to using the Texas Model to improve the lives and achievement of students in academic, career, and personal-social domains.

The Boerne ISD Crest Award winners are: Boerne High School, Champion High School, Boerne Middle School North, Boerne Middle School South, Voss Middle School, Boerne Academy, Cibolo Creek Elementary School, Curington Elementary School, Fabra Elementary School, Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary School, Herff Elementary School, Kendall Elementary School, and Van Raub Elementary School.

The Texas School Counselor Association awards ceremony will be in February in Round Rock.

Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) is sponsored by the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA) and awarded to school counseling programs that meet CREST requirements. CREST is a continuous improvement document that school counseling programs can use to demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to obtaining results.
