February 27, 2023- The Boerne Independent School District Communications Department and the Boerne Education Foundation won a total of 19 statewide awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association. The awards were presented at last week’s 2023 TSPRA 
Conference.
The total of 19 awards includes two Crystal Commendation Certificates of Merit, and three Best of Category gold medals. BISD also earned eight Gold Stars, as well as seven Silver and two Bronze Stars. The Communications Department consists of Director of Communications Bryan Benway, Communications Specialist and Parent Involvement Coordinator Amanda Payne, and Multimedia Specialist Erik Armenta, while Yvette Reyna serves as the Executive Director of the Boerne Education Foundation and Community Partnerships.
“To have our Communications Department and the Boerne Education Foundation recognized at a statewide level shows the hard work and commitment we have to continue to serve our students, parents, and staff,” said Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price.
“Communication is the key to the success of any organization and this is especially true of a school district. That is why I am so proud of this recognition and how valuable this department is to the success of Boerne ISD,” Price concluded.
