Fabra Principal Receives Statewide Recognition

TMEAMay 1, 2023- The Boerne Independent School District has announced that Fabra Elementary School Principal Troy Latiolais has received the Distinguished Administrator Designation from the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA).

 

The TMEA Distinguished Administrator Designation honors upper-level school administrators who have been instrumental in preserving quality music education programs on their campuses and in their districts. 

 

Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price stated, “Troy is very well deserving of this accolade. He is a huge supporter of the music program at Fabra and has gone above and beyond to ensure our students and staff have the tools they need to be successful. He sets a wonderful example of what a supportive principal should be.”

 

Mr. Latiolais was nominated for the award by Fabra Music Teacher Claudia Salazar. He has supported and encouraged expanding music offerings at Fabra, including an after-school music theater club. Mr. Latiolais has also assisted with the 1st grade Winter Concert and other choir performances, from song selection to social media promotion, and more. 

 

Mr. Latiolais has served as Fabra Principal since May of 2019 and was previously Assistant Principal at the campus. Mr. Latiolais received his Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University in 2005, his master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University in 2009, and his Superintendent’s Certification from Lamar University in 2019.
